For years the Cugnon Project has provided a platform for young individuals and experienced musicians to play chamber music together. This way, we have helped many people to develop their talents.
In order to give the youngest among us an opportunity as well to play together with professional musicians, Cugnon Junior was recently founded.
This part of the Cugnon Project organises four projects every season, in which talented young string players aged 7 through 16 play chamber music and string orchestra music together with professionals.
Both young professionals and the more experienced professionals within the project tutor participants by leading rehearsals and playing together with them.
At the end of each project there is a final concert either during the Cugnon International Chamber Music Festival in Heeswijk-Dinther, and the Bartholomeus Gasthuis in Utrecht.
Cugnon Junior projects are currently led by Anna Steenhuis (violin) and Hannah Donohoe (viola), both connected to the Cugnon Project for multiple years. Also tutoring have been Chris Duindam (violin), Merel van Schie (viola) and Douw Fonda (cello).
